What we’re doing at Shoppingtown Mall

Our Security Staff uses Global Electric Motorcars and a Segway instead of vehicles powered by gas.

Many of our retailers now offer shoppers the option of reusable bags.

The center has implemented new lighting protocols that allow us to minimize our energy use and lower our carbon footprint without any impact on the shopping experience. The center also has implemented new HVAC and water protocols that help conserve energy.

The Management Office uses water coolers instead of bottled water.

Approximately 200 yards of tree trimmings will be chipped and installed in landscape beddings as a recycling effort. This will reduce the mulch required for our property by 100 yards.

The center has a new protocol for our escalators that helps save energy when the mall is not open.

Shoppingtown hosts an annual Pancake Breakfast for the Local Rotary Club of Dewitt. We will be adding a demonstration by GOT-JUNK, and they will set up a household waste recycling demonstration.
